Sunday Times Teaser 2599 – Removing a Card

by Graham Smithers

Published: 15 July 2012 (link)

I have taken a set of cards and written a different digit on each. Overall I have used a set of consecutive digits. Then I have arranged the cards in some order to make one large number. This number is divisible by the digit that is one more than the number of cards. Reading from left to right, if any card is removed then the remaining number is divisible by the position of the card removed. For example, if the card in the sixth position is removed and the remaining cards are pushed together to form another number then that number is divisible by 6.

What was the original number?
